can't sleep... mini awesome story

Fri Oct 30, 2009, 4:06 AM
Drinking coffe in the night = bad idea
yup! keeps me awake for veeerryyy long

----

I just remembered. Few years ago (I'm thinking about 1-3 years...), I went on a Sunday afternoon to Brea, CA to visit the cousin, ~RedCrimsonRose3 ... I don't know what the *** I was thinking (I don't remember at all, really! Hence the *** to fill in the blank) I just remember that somehow I thought I could drive aaaalll the way to Brea and make it home on Sun night in time to sleep and go to work the next morning. The day was windy (it's been windy in several areas of southern CA these past few days); and the closer I got to Brea, the scarier the drive became. There were several parts that were sooo dusty because of the Santa Ana winds (I think that's what they're called....) were so strong... the more I got closer, the worse the wind got. I don't know why, but I always thought that, once in Brea, the wind would stop, the birds would come out and sing.... and whatever happens when the weather is pleasant. Anyways, it didn't. I got there, and the wind was still blowing, the leaves were running from one spot to the other, the street was filled with branches and other debris (mostly leaves and stuff). I finally got to her place. She was completely clueless of what was going on, especially since she woke up kind of late and hadn't stepped outside at all.

She and I went to the mall, we went out to eat... we were outside a lot... which was made a little difficult by the wind. I remember she really wanted to buy this one pair of shoes... and we were all over the place looking for the store that carried them.... At this time, the sun was close to setting... I remember that, as the sun got low enough to the 'dust level' (everything was so dusty from the wind, like a perpetual sandstorm), the day suddenly became nigt. The light suddenly stopped when the sun reached the edge. Right before then, her father called me and asked me to spend the night; since he heard that the wind was really bad and it would be safer to not drive.
We went back to her place for some reason, right when we decided to look up the store that we couldn't find. We finally found it! In the night! We found her shoes! In the wrong size! She bought them anyways.... I remember tasting dirt from the wind, having difficulty walking, or waking was easier (depending on the direction at which I was walking). My hair was a mess.

When we got to her place, we realized that I needed toiletries and a change of clothes. We had to go out again. We went to get my stuff, and finally after the third time we went out that nigh, we were done for good! When we got there and I parked the car, the trees in the street were going crazy... their branches were waving like crazy in the never-ending wind. As I slowed down the car and got closer to the curb to park, we noticed that the night was darker than usual, and I was going slower to avoid hitting branches in the ground. I still managed to go over a branch. The dried branch snapped and cracked beneath the weight of the tires. We jumped at the sudden sound. I said, "this night is scary" and she said, "(LOL),yes, and your music isn't helping!" I had Transylvania from Nox Arcana in the CD player.... and yes, it was creepy, it was scary, but it was adding to the mood and it was fun!

That evening, as we got ready to sleep, I set up my alarm in my cell phone (first time I ever used my cell as alarm to wake up), got comfy in her couch, right by the sliding glass door that rattled because of the wind, and went to sleep.... The constant noises kept waking me up. I got to a point at which I was asleep and could still hear the noises, therefore, the noises became part of my dream. I was dreaming that I was outside, it was sunny and cloudy at the same time (the sun wasn't visible for some reason), I was in a field of green grass... a tornado was present and it took a little brown house. I somehow decided that the tornado wasn't going to take the house, so I pulled on the tornado... which somehow became a thick brown rope.... The house itself became a hot air balloon, very colorful, with a brown basket. Somehow I was in the ground pulling on the rope, and in the basket from the balloon... simultaneously! The wind kept trying to take the balloon away! Then my alarm went off. The wind was somewhat calm (I don't remember it being as violent as the day before). I got to work 30 minutes late (I called in to let them know what happened). The drive to work was interesting.... so much dirt... it was like brown fog, I think I saw the sun rise... but it was too dusty to actually see the sun until later.... yes, I left her place very early... and I still came in late... I probably never drove past 30-35 mph because of the low visibility that morning.

Moral of the story:
-scary situations can be fun!
-I lost my CD!! I don't remember what I did with it after this day...
-must go visit Brea for the weekend again, someday (hopefully sooner than later)
-must take vacation from work! thanksgiving!! yay!!

In other news:
I made Livejournal account where I plan to write about my dreams:
[link]
I also include whatever randomness I feel like writing about that has nothing to do with anything.
I am a little upset... I had a very interesting dream that I don't remember now because my alarm woke me up suddenly... if I wake up like that, all of a sudden, I forget my dreams!!
